Dengue Outbreak Continues In Pakistan

42 new dengue patients have been confirmed in the last 24 hours across Punjab including Lahore.

According to Secretary Health Lahore Ali Jan Khan, 14 thousand seven hundred and 63 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in 36 districts of Punjab this year, while 26 new cases were reported in Lahore yesterday, 6782 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in Lahore this year.

A total of 2649 dengue patients were reported in Rawalpindi this year, one new dengue patient was confirmed in Rawalpindi yesterday, similarly 4 new dengue patients were confirmed in Gujranwala, Multan yesterday.

According to Secretary Health Lahore, 5 new dengue patients were confirmed in Faisalabad yesterday, one new dengue patient each in Pakpattan and Jhelum during the last 24 hours.

A total of 51 dengue patients are currently under treatment in hospitals across Punjab, a total of 28 dengue patients are currently under treatment in Lahore district hospitals.

Secretary Health says that citizens should keep their environment clean and dry to avoid dengue, citizens should cooperate with health department teams to prevent dengue, health department’s free helpline for dengue fever treatment, information or complaints. Contact on 1033.
